How can I disable automatic send and receive in Outlook for Mac 2011? Ask Question 2. If go into Tools - Run Schedule - Edit Schedules, send and receive is not checked. Under the account's Advanced details you can change the frequency that the Auto Send / Recieve runs. That is per Account though. I just solved this problem for.
I recently installed Exchange 2013 Enterprise along side our 2007 Exchange server in a coexistence scenario. I moved a few test users over to the new Exchange server so we could start testing with Office 2016 for Windows and Office 2016 for Mac.
Everything seems to be working fine accept mail getting sent to the Mac Outlook clients does not update when new messages are received. We will hear the alert on our mobile devices and it works fine through OWA on 2013. The Windows Outlook 2016 users do not have this issue at all.

It seems you need to do a manual send/receive each time you want to check for new items, or they all come in in groups after about 30 minutes. Is there a reason Office 2016 for Mac Outlook behaves like this? I have been searching for answers on this and see it has come up in a few other forums on the web. If anyone can provide any info it would be great. The Mac clients are all on Yosemite 10.10.5, El Capitan is not supported in our environment yet. Hi, Generally, with an Exchange account, Outlook synchronizes with the server at regular intervals.
However, there seems no method to change the sync interval. Are working in offline mode when it stops syncing? You may check it under Tools tab Online/Offline button. We may also check the sync status of your account by clicking Tools Sync Status and check if there are any sync errors by clicking Tools Sync Errors.
